Your Journey with Atlas Canada
The Survey
Embark on your moving journey with a personalized survey! An Atlas Moving Consultant will connect with you, either in person or virtually, to discuss the details of your move, answer any questions, and thoroughly explain the long-distance moving process. During this consultation, you’ll also learn about our Essential Service Guarantee, designed to protect you throughout the process. The Consultant will conduct a comprehensive survey of your home to ensure we fully understand your needs and can provide an accurate estimate and tailored moving plan. Every item will be carefully cataloged with its approximate weight, and the Consultant will assess if any additional services are necessary to accommodate your specific requirements.
The Estimate
Once the survey is complete, your Atlas Moving Consultant will provide you with a detailed and accurate price estimate for your long-distance move. They will take the time to sit down with you, walk through all the charges, and address any questions you may have, ensuring you have a clear understanding and feel confident in your decision.

Professional Van Operator
Your Atlas Professional Van Operator is a skilled expert with years of experience. On moving day, they will oversee the entire crew, managing the loading and unloading process to ensure your belongings are carefully handled and securely packed for safe transportation.
How Does Atlas Pack Your Belongings?
• Breakable items are hand-wrapped and packed in special cartons
• Clothing is hung in wardrobe cartons
• Large delicate items are wrapped with cushion
• Wooden crates are available to protect larger breakables
Loading Day
Your Professional Van Operator will take every precaution to protect your home during the loading process. They will use temporary banister padding, floor runners, plastic wrap, and blankets to safeguard your furniture. Additionally, we provide high-density plastic mattress bags for extra protection.
Once all your items are loaded onto the truck, it will be weighed. The pre-load weight is subtracted from the post-load weight to determine the actual shipment weight, which is used for billing. Please note that charges may increase if additional items are added to your shipment after the Moving Consultant has conducted the in-home survey.
Transit
It is important you choose the right Transit Protection Plan to meet your individual needs. See coverage option details below.
Transit Protection Plans Options:
- Full Protection (Recommended): This option is valued at $10 multiplied by the weight of your shipment in pounds (lbs). This is a comprehensive protection plan for your possessions based on prevailing market values.
- Released (Basic) Protection: $0.60/pound. For example, a 32’’ TV at 55 lbs. would be covered up to $33.
Delivery & Unpacking
Your Professional Van Operator will contact you a minimum of 24 hours ahead of delivery to allow you to prepare for the unloading of your possessions in your new home. Once they arrive, your Professional Van Operator will provide you with a Mandatory Inventory Check- off List so you can confirm that everything has been delivered. If there are any items missing or damaged, make a note on the list prior to signing it as this is important. Here’s what you can expect from your Atlas delivery crew:
• Furniture placed in requested rooms
• Cartons unloaded to rooms as marked
• Unroll rugs and reassemble beds
• Unpack any cartons packed by Atlas as part of the Full-Service packing option
• Remove any packing materials and debris

How To Choose a Move Guide:
Watch our “How to Choose a Mover” video for more information on what you can do to protect your family and your belongings.
The rise of the internet has given way to rogue movers who create deceptive websites to trick people into thinking they are reliable moving companies. In reality, these untrustworthy movers lack the proper trucks, equipment, and licensed agents to handle your move safely and professionally.
How To Spot a Rouge Mover
- Many rogue movers don’t list a physical company address on their website.
- Rogue movers will give a low-ball price in order to get your move and they often demand payment up front. Reputable moving companies collect payment on delivery.
